Fola May is a gastroenterologist and health services researcher with an interest in ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic disparities in colorectal cancer screening and outcomes. She is an assistant professor of medicine in the Division of Digestive Diseases at UCLA and a staff physician at the Greater Los Angeles Veterans Affairs Healthcare Network. She is also a member of the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center (JCCC) and a research collaborator at the UCLA Center for Cancer Prevention Control Research (CPCR). Dr. May obtained a degree in biology from Yale University before pursuing a masters in epidemiology at the University of Cambridge. She attended medical school at Harvard Medical School and trained in Internal Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. She was a UCLA GI fellow in the STAR program from 2011 to 2015, during which time she earned a PhD in Health Policy and Management from the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health.
